The so called caller id Globes with this same number 516-453-5655 is calling me and when I asked to be taken off their call list, the guy told me to go to hell.
Called in Indianapolis under the name Globes. Heavy Indian accent. Asking about fire alarms, burgulary, and fire. Must get your info from some source you signed up for...ask for my name although my phone isn't registered under my name. Said something about calling back because you may win "something"....couldn't understand. SCAM! SCAM!
10/28/2011 - Just received a call from 516-453-5655. Young male speaking in what sounded like an African accent asked to speak to my husband (by his name). When I asked what "Globes" is (the information on caller ID) he demanded to speak with my husband. I said that we were not interested in speaking with a company we didn't recognize. He then proceeded to call me a stupid, (word not printable), (word for prostitute) ...and repeated it, then he hung up.
I contacted the Atty General's office in my home state of Indiana. Unfortunately, our number was not yet on the DNC list. Because of this, the state representative couldn't even take a complaint. We have to wait 65 days until we can file it. In the meantime, I can only assume that we will continue to receive these calls. So much for the effectiveness of the Do-Not-Call system.
