They call under pretext of a Survey, which is exempted from Do Not Call Lists. After finding out you do not have a smoke alarm, then they try to bait and switch. Do what I do. After checking here and finding out what POS these people are, next time they call, take their survey answering no smoke alarms. They want to send out a salesperson. Let them send the Salesperson. Get the Salesperson ID and record it. Get the make, model and license plate of their car. Let the Salesperson know first hand that you will have them waste several hours coming out to see you everytime a person calls back as they continue to do. Let them squirm. Amazing how this has managed to get me off the call lists of several that just don't seem to get it when I tell them to not call me again.
Thank you for reporting this. This foreign criminal gang uses many aliases. Total Survey Solutions or Total Solutions is now scamming Massachusetts. They called here on 8-29-2011 and 8-30-2011. The 2nd time, asked me if I had a smoke or fire alarm. They hung up each time when I asked for the company address. Legitimate survey companies and charities are exempt from the Do-Not-Call regulations, but are required to stop calling upon demand. This is not a legitimate survey; these are con artists. Don't answer them.
They've been calling me for two months, sometimes the caller ID says Homeland and sometimes it says globes. Today I answered and a man with an Indian accent asked for the previous owner of the number, I told them wrong number and to stop calling here and to take me off their list. He asked for the owner of the home and I repeated to take me off the list, at which point he yelled that he isn't selling anything and I'm not listening to him properly, so I hung up. Now reading this, I'm not so confident that they will stop calling. Did calling back and pressing 1 end up working with anyone?
516-453-5655 called and they left no message, I always leave the answering machine on so am not bothered by calls like this. just deleted it, whatever or whoever they are.
