Got a call yesterday (on our cell phone which we use only in emergencies and noone should have the number!) mentioned credit card company, hung up immediately as they were using up our minutes! Ridiculous. Can't believe they asked for someones credit card number, scary!
Got a call from this number today too. Did a reverse lookup on it, its from Arizona. Since I don't know anyone from that area, I didn't take the call and am not calling it back.
I am glad you guys have posted that it is a scam artist. Saves me some explaining to my hubby.
12:00 on 8/27 Same story as those above. Called me on a business phone. Answered the call, did not press 1, tried to call back to complain, and got the same message. Definite scam! Beware folks.
Same as above, when I asked which bank she worked for, they hung up on me - definitely a scam. Tried calling them back in Tucson, AZ, but the number doesn't accept calls. Calling my bank now to report it.
I've gotten two calls from different numbers in the past 24 hours and am grateful for this site!
Word of advice - if the number looks random and nothing you've seen before, do not even pick up and DO NOT try to call it back. Just answering could help them come to some determintation about your identity and could lead to ID theft --> fraud.
We should really report to the FTC especially if some of you spoke to someone and were hung up on when you wouldn't provide personal information!
