same heavy accent as others received.Told me my husband needed to call within 10 min or a sherriff would be at his place of employment and he wouldn't be able to work until this was cleared up with IRS. Said we owed 7,945. When I started asking questions he hung up on me.
got a call from 530-235-6505 from a heavy accented guy named "Ronnie Williams" who said he was from the "internal revenue service department" and their were discrepencies in our tax return. Could barely understand what he was saying. He called twice at 8:41 and 10:43am. I've worked with the IRS a lot for clients and know that they never call you out of the blue. If it's a true issue you've received SEVERAL letters from them before they'd ever attempt to call you. Didn't call him back because I was pretty sure it was a scam, found all these posts and just deleted the messages. Thanks for all the posts.
Same call, same number, same Indian accent, same "call Mr Kevin Peterson". I asked for his badge number and he said he was a paralegal working for the IRS! He could not give an IRS case number. I told him have the IRS send me there concerns in a certified letter. He hung up.
Keeps leaving voice mails for someone esle saying that I must not ignore the message because they are the IRS. Called back on Saturday and was hung up on after he said he would not call again. But he called again on Monday. I blocked him now, but still want others to be aware of this.
I just got the same call and the guy really got me scared. Thankfully, my scam alert flags starting going off especially when he basically started yelling at me when I said that I needed to call him back. He seemed convinced that I might actually believe his scam and gave me a different call back number. If anybody is investigating this then try 530-710-2511. The first call came from 530-235-6505. What a terrible person. Thanks for starting this thread, its actually making me feel MUCH better. He was claiming that his name was Christopher Noriega.
