Total scam....We called back and told them to file the subpoena and would have our lawyer contact them first thing in the morning......they hung up.....
So they called again today. However, today the man's name was James Harrison. (same thick Indian accent) Before he could even begin, I told him I knew this was a scam, and that I had reported him to the FTC and FBI. I also told him that I was working with another PDL company who was working on filing charges against them for misrepresentation. He started to laugh at me in a nasty way and I just continued to talk. I told him I had nothing to say to him and since he apparently had all my information, I expected a letter mailed to me (hard copy) stating what I owed and to whom and when did this contract get entered in to. I then told him to have a nice day and said good bye and hung up.
I found out, from one of the reputable pdl's in wisconsin that the pdl's have also been harrassed. People are making payments to 'pdl's" and then when they don't get their receipt of payment, are contacting the pdl's only to find out that no money paid in their name was ever paid to the pdl company. I know for a fact that at least one pdl is looking into this. Again, if we can find out who, we need to file a class action suit against these people. At a time when the economy is so topsy turvy and people are so anxious, they don't need these scam artists causing more anxiety and dismay, let alone scamming people out of their hard earned money.
Just as a ps. I had numerous pdls at one time due to a financial crisis that we were in. I tried to contact a pdl repayment company and then some searching with the BBB and I found that what they did, I could do. I called the dfi of my state, told them of my predicament and they gave me some advice to approach the pdl lenders with. With the exception of 2 or 3 companies, there was not one company who did not work with me. They helped me with arrangements to pay my loan, in one instance over 6 months without making additional financial charges. Yes I know that they charge an inordinate interest fee, but at the time, it was what we needed and fast. For the most part everyone I dealt with in their collection departments were professional and polite. I did have a dispute with two of the companies but even they were settled.
This group of piranahs that are trying to dupe us are not anything more than bottom feeders that must be stopped!

I received a voicemail at my work from the following number 530-331-8829 on 07/28/2010. He stated his name was Michael Harris, looking for a return phone call from me or my attorney. Also stated that if I did not return a phone call he would place a gridlock on me. This person leaving a voicemail at my place of employment did not speak fluent English (Nigerian/Indian accent). When I returned the call today 07/29/2010, They stated they were the "Anderson Law Firm" acting upon the United States Government, the person handling my case is Daniel Marshall. When I asked where they were located they stated California, when I asked for the address, all he said was CA. The person I spoke with was not Daniel however stated I was being sued, and would not release any information about the case to me. When I question his foreign decent and the possibility of being scammed he immediately disliked my attitude, and stated he refused to release any further information about my case, however advised me to leave work immediately to go home and wait for the sheriff to come and arrest me. He then also stated he had my personal information, verified the last 4 digits of my SSN and my banking institute information. He also stated that as of this afternoon I will no longer have a SSN and banking institute that I will have a lockout on me. I feel scared and pressured,
I have done my research before calling them back and know this is a SCAM. Please send an ALERT!
HERE WE GO AGAIN: ***ON 08/06/2010 Received another voicemail from 512-522-0943, Harrison Ford from Morgan Associates, the message is identical to the one received on 07/28/2010. These guys are crooks. DON'T PAY THEM ANYTHING. Threats is what These people are. They are Extorionists.
