Guy with British accent (I think it was British) called twice, identified himself as "Steve Martin," and left messages both times saying that I had committed some unspecified offenses and that I would have to appear before a "magistrate judge" or a grand jury. Otherwise there would be some kind of "enforcement action" by the U.S. Treasury. Concluded with something like "help us to help you."
I got the same call as the others listed. Steve Martin from the Treasury dept said it was the 2nd attempt and I need to appear before a magistrate or jury. What kind of moron does this? He called later and left another phone number- 562-398-3699. Same guy and exactly the same spiel.
Same for me....multiple messages saying "calling regarding an enforcement action executed by US Treasury and sending-your-serious(?) attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or glen-julie(?) 454 criminal offense. My number is 530-405-3756. I repeat 530-405-3756.
