Holy Crap!! Same thing happened. I do have a outstanding payday loan, but not through them. I told them that my phone was a crappy phone that I can't hook up to the internet!! I am glad I did some research.
Told me they were with American Law Associates. Then proceeded to give me my last 4 for my social and my name without me even telling him who I was. Obviously they use their caller ID to guess who they are talking to. Said it was about a loan I received online, which I have never had an online loan. Guess all their information wasn't correct. What a scam.
Called me telling me the same thing...that i had taken out a loan from Cash Advance USA for $700 which I never did. And telling me I wouldn't be able to get any info from Cash Advance USA directly because the case had already been turned over American Law Associates.
Just got a call from an a man with an Indian accent who said that I had taken a loan from Cash Advance online and that American Law Associates was filing a case for fraud that and it was going to be reported to my job and that I would be terminated. I asked him if he had any documentation and he claimed he did and began to get a bit agitated because I do work at a law firm and understand my rights. I basically told him to do whatever he wanted and he said that they were going to garnish my SSI and my paycheck and whatever else - CRAZY!!!
I received a call from 530-419-1600 the man on the other end started saying things I couldn't barely u.understand due to his accent. I asked him who he worked for he proceeded to tell me I needed to send the money I owed I told him I didn't owe him he then gave me my home physical address and said he would send someone and my body would never be found. I immediately call my local police to. File a complaint. I would like to find the name and address of this company.
