Holy Crap!! Same thing happened. I do have a outstanding payday loan, but not through them. I told them that my phone was a crappy phone that I can't hook up to the internet!! I am glad I did some research.
I just received the same call, I was told that I took a loan with America Cash advance. I called America cash Advance and they did not have a loan in my name, they transferred me to Paul, he is investigating this calls since a lot of people are calling them.
The same guy called me today from "Department of Law and Investigations" using the number 1-303-353-1866. Told me if I didn't pay I'd be arrested in 1 hr by his officers and investigators. I love this guy. At least he's creative.
I just recieved a call just like these but from a different number. They called me at my place of employment and said I took out a loan for 300 which i never had. He said his name was Kevin Thompson. They left a message on my home phone saying threatening me as well. I'm calling my local sheriff and reporting the call. They left a number to return their call and I called it and got a voicemail for "american law associates." I didn't leave a message but I will be turning it into the police.
i got the same phone call yesterday stated that i had gotten a payday loan and that i was going to go to jail and was going to call my job and was going to get fired and i had to write a letter stating why i didnt pay and i was willing to pay now and fax it too them along with a copy of my dl and i had to 500 pm to send to them our i was going to jail da lady hung up on me several times when i made her mad and said she was going to call my work place and i told them i didnt have a fax they put me on the phone with someone else and they asked me did i have a good mobile device for me to takea picture of my dl and email it to them they knew the last 4 of my social my bank name and workplace
A Mike Buttowski called from this number and threatened me with jail time and court to scam me out of money that has been taken out of my account to pay off a lone from another company. The other company is recieving their money but this Mike person tried to tell me they weren't and to stop payment to them and pay him. Do something before he scams any more people.
