Got an IRS threatening message that I'm being sued. I called the number back and they say they are the criminal division of the IRS there are a number of signs during the conversation that it's most likely a scam...like he said IRS came to my house twice before the phone call...and that cops will be knocking on my door within the next hour...among other things...i know that all correspondences through IRS is through good ol' snail mail...and this was confirmed by a couple of work buddies who have been audited by the IRS.
TL;DR IRS will not make a phone call to threaten to sue, it will send all the paperwork through mail first MULTIPLE TIMES about your taxes before making phone calls.
They just tried to call me 4 times, I answered the first time, they said they were from the IRS, and I hung up, the person barely spoke English, I knew it was a scam. I have blocked the number now
just got a call that caller ID said it was this number the name Anthony Espinal Seto telling me it was the IRS he could barely speak English when I asked his name he said his name was Robert Wilson and that I needed to call back phone number 415 4137 954 and speak to officer Adam Spencer immediately when I told him I doubted the IRS would be sending him to call me at home about anything that I wanted all his information total scam
