Got call from Payton that appeared as 540-904-4838 but actually was from 540-751-3319 when I used info playback on my answering service. Not scammed as I did not respond but clearly a phishing type number. I had listed a vehicle on Kijiji (Canada Craigslist) which triggered the call. Beware.
Same story. A guy named Peyton called my phone from my Craigslist ad and said he could sell my vehicle for "low fee". Seemed sketchy so I checked the internet. Thanks for this thread. 540-751-3319 from Leesburg, VA.
Yep, it is Peyton calling. The call showed up as "unknown" and the call-back number on the voice mail was this 888-941-6515. The voicemail actually was left by the phone number (540) 751-3319. Look, if I want to enlist someone to sell my car, I could try other online services like Ebay or Autotrader, or even Carmax. There is a reason why people use kijiji or Craigslist. It's because we want to sell it OURSELVES and sell it LOCALLY without any added expense. No thank you.
