They called my work place from this number, claimed to be from Microsoft (caller ID displayed them as CDCR ASP) and that my 'windows computer' was infected with viruses and insecure. They couldn't tell me which computer it was that was 'infected' or why they were performing supposed surveillance on my system, but wanted credit card info and remote access to the computer, which is obviously a scam.
This is getting creepy and ridiculous a bunch of weird number have been calling me. This number tho just called and I ignored it, but then it left a message...stating that irs is filling a lawsuit against me..and this is my final warning.
I just received a recorded message from this number also stating that is a final warning for an IRS lawsuit. Thing is, I recently paid back taxes for 2012 on interest received that I forgot to report. No big deal; I paid it and have confirmation from the IRS that we're square. But I noticed all these scammers calling and mailing (both electronic and snail) stuff about owing IRS, including this call. How do these scammers know to target me? Does the IRS leak this information? And it's interesting that they're using this recorded message which not only gives a number to call "02-864-1324" (can't make out the first number, if there is one), but it mispronounces the way an English-speaking person would say a word or telephone number (hard to demonstrate in text).
Another call from the "I.R.S.", though I don't have any issues with them. It appears the computer generated message is really bad and sounds so fake. One was yesterday and it was a fast read of the message indicating the person sending it played it too fast while the second call today was much slower and deliberate.
The two numbers to call are: (202) 864-1303 and (202) 747-2140
