You should go down to the station and make a formal report if you can. As a practical mater there is little law enforcement can do because the callers are located in India or Pakistan. They can, however, if they receive enough complaints, go the media and warn the community.
Leaves me a voicemail saying that according to my ss#, I have an outstanding tax debt and if I don't not respond, a warrant will be made for my arrest. Called back...the woman picks up the phone and I can hear her talking to another person on the phone...total bs and illegal
Just got a call from a scam group stating something about tax fraud and an warrant for my arrest has been issued. To resolve I was told to call back 559-328-2376... Total scam!
Got a call from 559-444-2044. Said they were from IRS and wanted to know if I had a criminal lawyer as the IRS was going to come after me. They just had something on TV about these calls and if you got one to report it to the police. I told them that and the calls stopped. IRS would never call you. You'll get a letter if there is a problem. If you have caller ID, just don't answer if this phone number comes up.
