This exact same thing just happened to me! She hung up on me three times when I asked for clarification on what she was saying..."IT's very simple" I said no its not! So rude!
So I received a call back a year ago from a grace Milton with Liberty Tax Defense. I was extremely scared and fell for this SCAM artists tricks. She said I was deli I gave them my CC# and they charged me each month until they received $980.00 from my checking account. After contacting the US department of education, they informed me that I was never in default and that I was scammed. I tried to get my bank to help me get the money back, however they said since I gave permission for them to take the funds that they could not allow this. I had to close the account out and just take a loss of $980.00. Disgusted! Now a year later I am receiving phone calls from the same woman and she is using a different name (Terri Weston). There is no way of hiding her voice. This time when she called me she said I have great news for you, we have paid off your student loans and now lets get your credit back to good standing. She said for only $200 we can get your credit score up several points. I said what happened to the $980 that I already paid you all, and she said oh that was to get your loans out of default. I said I was never in default and told her I would call her back. I am not and now I am contacting an attorney because something has to get done about these people. Not acceptable!
Hi some lady by the name of Terry keeps calling me telling me I am eligible for Student Loan Forgiveness. I spoke with a representative at Great Lakes which the company for the Student Loan repayment company. We went through the steps to find out if I was eligible for student loan forgiveness and I am not eligible. This phone number is a SCAM 1-561-701-8840 PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION.
I received a text message on my cell phone asking me to call this number. The message reads "Your STUDENT LOANS are Red Flagged for Forgiveness trough the D.O.E. Call right away at 1-561-701-8840. Reply Stop to Stop" I have received this same message once a week at the same time.
