received a call from asking about my daughter's student saying that they could reduce my payment. when I told them we weren't making payments at the time they hung up quickly. They were fishing for information the entire time they talked to me. I contacted the Federal student aid and following is what they told me. "I apologize for the inconvenience and would like to advise that this would not have been one of your Department of Education servicers. If your servicer contacts you they will have all required information regarding your loans and will identify themselves as being with that servicing company. Please disregard any other phone calls you receive from another entity that is not your servicer. You may verify who is currently servicing your loans at www.nslds.ed.gov. " If you have any questions about this request, please reply to this email or contact us at the number listed below. I have a student loan but I don't trust people who call me with any kind of "help".  Man these people will not take no for an answer.

This company also called me.  Rings on line then an Arabic sounding man calling himself Mark Walker said my name then asked to confirm it. I didn't respond and then asked the purpose of his call. Then mentioned that he understands that I want to back to school. This is a phishing attempt.

Notably, I received a call from an Arabic person presenting an english name just 30 minutes before confirming my identity because he wanted to quote me car insurance.
