Calls and hang ups without messages. Caller ID says: Richmond MI. Whatever these jerks are selling, it can't be worth my time. Some day the fat cats in Washington DC will get off the gravy train for a couple of minutes and initiate efforts to stop these harassing calls to millions of us every day.
Calls like this are often PHISHING SCAMS for personal info. If you 'bought into' this call, they would eventually get around to asking for your Social Security Number, claiming they'd need that for their 'lawsuit.' That, along with your name and address would be all they need to empty out your bank accounts or open new ones in your name that you'd never know about until the bills or bill collectors showed up. A very dangerous nuisance for those who fall for it.
I strongly believe the CABLE COMPANIES sell our names/phone numbers. They RUN ADS for these SCAMS and then, lo and behold, we get these calls. I noticed it for "Solar Panels", for "Switching Your Electric Providers", for Medicare "assistance" programs, for Back & Knee Braces (also Medicare Fraud) and for various 'lawsuits' like Mesothelioma, and various drugs. I believe the MegaBanks that own the Credit Card Companies sell our names/phone numbers to the "Lower Your Interest Rate" scammers and The Phone Companies probably sell our info, too because they are the ones making money on each one of these calls. In other words, American Big Business is behind these scams using the SAME Overseas Call Centers that they use for their own services. And they are 'untouchable' because the Scammers are 'out of reach' of the American Justice System and the Businesses pay off the politicians to look the other way.
Caller ID says "Richmond MI". They leave no message.
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). I hear the following, "Hello and thank you for calling. If you'd like to be placed on a Do-Not-Call list for the number that called you, please, press 1 now." (I never do this as it can actually make things worse).
So we have a spoofed caller ID and the failure to identify themselves. This smells like a SCAM.
I have seen this outgoing message for a Xarelto number (931 253 1002). That one left a message and used "MARKET PLACE" as the caller ID.
