We are getting calls from this number, but is listed as name unavailable. We never answer calls with no caller ID. If they want to talk to someone, they need to either leave a message or identify who they are.
They never leave a mssg and some cunning sod who sees me come home from work alerts them like hyenas to a dead lion dying or scarabs after an eland drops a bundle. Crikey! This kind of thing is punishable by law in most places in the USA, you know?
They have been calling up to six times a day and up until 11p.m. They are looking for the people who used to have our phone number.....that was 14 years ago!! I told them I have never heard of the person they are looking for. I never went to college so I know they are not looking for me! [***]!
Debt collectors are only allowed to call between the hours of 8am and 9pm, so you have an FDCPA lawsuit and possibly a TCPA lawsuit.
You need to send them a certified "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.
Web page lists them in Wilkes Barre Pa, but the BBB has them in Delaware. Must be a heck of a drive every day for the mail: https://www.navient.com/about/contact-us/
BBB page 1,979 (Somehow down from 2,020, wonder where they went?) complaints, 37 negative reviews, and a government action and they still get an A+??? Wonder how much they are paying for that? http://www.bbb.org/delaware/business-reviews/ ... ton-de-92002017
Looks like lots of shady dealings going on there and lots of government actions against them:

Pioneer has lost their contract to collect student loans due to their criminal activity: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/27/educ ... _n_6773286.html
Web page with contact information: https://pioneercreditrecovery.com/Contact.aspx
BBB page with 198 complaints and 6 negative reviews and a government action revoking their contract and a BS statement about the revocation of that contract but somehow still gets an A+??? (Probably because it is accredited and pays big bucks for that rating): http://www.bbb.org/upstate-new-york/business- ... arcade-ny-5664/
Pioneer is a Delaware corporation organized in December of 2001 unlike their web page that says 1980.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Called this afternoon and left a message for someone who used to have our phone number. That was 10 years ago and it's a business phone. Calling back wouldn't do any good since it's an automated message.
