This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Received a call and several messages from this number from someone named James Collard who has a very broken English. He first called saying that he was calling because I have some criminal charges filed on my behalf in California - I live in Florida and this is a NY #. I filled out a form online for an auto insurance and I belief he captured all my information from this application. Now he keeps leaving me voice messages about the samething and on how this is going to become a big mess with my job. This is frustrating and I would like some advice on what to do.

I just received a call from this number as well.. but his name was "James carter" saying that I need to contact a lawyer.. didnt even say what it was for. Just said that if I dont contact him there will be trouble and wishes me the best of luck
I received a call from this number too. His name was James Carter. But you know that could never be his real name. He had broken English. He to said i needed to call him back or my lawyer within two hours or else. He threatened me at my home and work place. He wished me good luck. Well its been 4 hours now. I won't contact him. This has been going on for well over 2 years. They call, i ignore. Then it stops for a month or two. Then they call and ignore so on and so forth. They get mean. They are persistent but they lie just to get money out of you. I had a loan through Cash Net USA and somehow they got my information through them. Yes I had some money troubles but i am all paid up and not paying people i don't owe money. I learned from this event not to borrow money from any loan company. I closed up my bank account so they couldn't even try to pull the money from there. Nothing bad will happen to you. Don't call them back they don't answer your questions without putting you through hell to do it. And its hard to understand them when they talk. The problem is that they have so many numbers out there. So unless you know the number that is calling you from the other end of the phone don't answer it. I block all the numbers i have gotten those types of calls from. There is 42 numbers blocked in my phone as of right now. They do call your work place to. They threatened my manager about setting him on fire. He called the local police and they can't do anything about it. Said the High School was the target last month. You just have to ride it out. They did try to call the number back who knows if they answered. So work tells them i don't work there anymore. They still call but not every day like 30 times a day. They called my co workers the n word and [***]. They have no respect. Its pointless to even try to talk to them. Just trying to give everyone a heads up. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY. ITS A SCAM. Google the number if your not sure who it is. You will find out if its a scam or not. But seriously if the name doesn't match the voice at the other end of the phone or they wish you good luck every time at the end of the call, chances are its FAKE.
First I received a call from someone earlier today...asking me if I was interested in being a companion to a lonely 22yr old Indian boy living in NY. I obviously told the man to never call my number again & I hung up!
Then I received a phone call at my work about 2hrs later from R & R Law Associates. His name was supposedly Keith Nelson. He had an indian accent so I highly doubt that his birth given name was Keith.
He actually sounded Alot like the person who called me earlier in the day asking for companionship, but at the time it didnt click. He proceded to tell me that I owed on some cash pay day loans & I needed to resolve this matter ASAP unless they were going to take necessary legal action & put out a warrant for my arrest. he had all my personal information & knew everything about me. (Work Info, Address, SS#, Bank Acct info, etc..)They claimed to be a law firm & that they did not normally accept payments over the phone but they would make an exception for me if i wanted to resolve the matter. But the only form of payment were "Green.Money pak" cards (scratchable vouchers without Visa or Mastercard logos) which can be found at your nearest CVS or Walmart & are also untraceable! Well they ALMOST GOT ME! If it wasnt for my brother that calmed me down & told me that it was a SCAM...then i would have fallen for it. The idea of having a Warrant out for my arrest is what got me completely frantic, clouded & STUPID! I should have been smarter with my reaction before running around the world trying to find these "Green.Money pak" cards, especially that I'm FROM NEW YORK! smh! So please be aware of these scams & dont fall for them.
Oh & the last conversation I had with Mr. Keith Nelson ended with me calling him all sorts of Filthy, Nasty, Offensive things that being from NY has taught me!!
