This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I recieved a call today from james carter saying i need to b in court on monday morning with my lawyer in Florida i live in oklahoma. He proceeded to call ke.a [***] and all kinds of name . He has my social and my work . He calls my job as well as my cell phone. He know wbat bank i use. Please be careful this is not a joke
I just received a phone call from this number. The men's names were James Carter and Kevin Smith. They also threatened me. I immediately filled a fraud alert with the 3 credit reporting agencies. These guys are nuts and hopefully the will be stopped soon. They asked me for $543.00 and said if I did not pay it I would be arrested for 7 days and have to pay $9000.00. I am sure they got my information from an recent internet application that I filled. If they call you remember to place the fraud alerts.
I have received 9 phone calls from this number and it sent me into premature labor because it scared me as to what was goin on. I called my local district attorney, and also filed reports with my local police dept and sherriffs dept this is a scam. DO NOT FALL FOR IT AND DO NOT SEND MONEY!!!!
