Living in the suburbs of Paris, today on the 20th of Fev. I received in the morning at 9 42 a call from this number. She just asked me if was speaking english, I said yes, but as she said she was Marina with a russian-sounding name, I asked her twice whether she was speaking russian, because I'm bilingual translator, then she hung up.
Just checked my voicemail and they left a message that IRS is getting to file a law suite. I am wondering for what? Glad I looked up on google to see your comments on these scam artists. Thanks guys for posting your comments and sorry for any anxious moments you may have gone through as well....
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
It is a recorded message claiming to be connected to IRS telling you to call another number. DONT do it its a scam . Call local police and report it on the non emergency number
I got a call from this number . It was a pharmacy trying to get me to renew my shipment of prescription meds.
they had my name wrong and they had an address that was not mine. that did not seem to bother them when I asked them to ship the product. they wanted a credit card. [***] Birds
I just received the Third Call TODAY, different number from the same recorded computer female voice, stating the IRS is filing lawsuit, that they have been trying to reach me, and that I need to call 202-470-3304 immediately. I know that this is a SCAM, as the Internal Revenue Service does not CALL people, but send official letters in the mail to last known address, with direct form, year, and issue (which may be disputed!) How thoroughly annoying! I am at Work!!
