caller asked for my attorneys information and told me that if i did not comply that he would have me arrested tomorrow. He had the last 4 of my ssn. He called me at work which is a number I NEVER give out. I asked him where he was calling from and he said Brooklyn. I am going to notify the State Attorneys office in that area and notify them of the problem.
I just now got a call from them, stating I was being sued from someone in New York. And that I needed to be in NY by tomorrow to appear in front of the judge... This is very strange.... Have they called you again?
I got a call from this exact number threatening to have me arrested also I don't call them back. Mid easten accent saying his name is Alfred Thomas. Got calls from some other numbers but sounding like it's the same person using a different name. Every messege they leave sounds like they're reading a script.
I just received a call on my job (we are not supposed to receive personal calls) which is a number that I never give out. He had a very think accent and said that I needed to give his senior attorney Mike Anderson a call at that number and extension 121. He said my case was going court tomorrow and that I needed to call this Mike Anderson right away and that it was time sensitive. He would not tell me who was sueing me, just that I had to call right away, within two hours. He said his name was Ricky Anderson and he was told by the senior attorney to call me. He asked if I had an attorney and that he had been told to get my attorney's information. I took down the number but gave him no information. I googled his number and saw comments/reports from others with a similar experience. I will call my attorney and let them handle it. I do not plan to call this Mike Anderson at all. I've received no paperwork and I think it is a scam.
Just received a call with similar accusations from Mike Anderson, "Attorney" threatening to arrest me at my home if I did not pay $949.38 to receive further infomation of the pending "check fraud charges"
Legitimate claims are not handled over the phone, if you are truly being pursued for legal action, you will recieve certified documentation of the charges from the county courthouse. Do NOT verify your social, name, address, etc.
