I called their customer service at 1-608-935-6170 and the person on the phone said that indeed the number of 1-608-935-6955 is a Land's End number. She explained that sometimes they get wrong numbers added into the system and she apologized. I explained that people are complaining and that the errors are being tracked on the internet related to possible fraud. I continued in these days, credit fraud is a part of people's paranoia and she needs to pass along this complaint. Who knows if the customer service person did? Everyone of us should call their customer service to get the point across.
I also received a call from this phone number yesterday. They said that they were Lands End. They asked if I wanted to participate in a survey about shopping and that they would pay me $50.00 for it. They said that they will send me a disposible camera and they wanted me to take photos of myself in four outfits and fill out a survey. It as sounded very fishy, if you know what I mean. They did have my name, my cell phone number, and my home address....I am not sure where they got it all from. They asked me to answer yes or no questions about where I shop and my age range.
I tried to call the number today and there was no answer. Who should I call about this fake call? How did they get my information?
I received a call from 608-935-6955 and they had information about me, my cell phone number for one, my name and my address. They said that it was a Land's End survey. They said that they would pay me $50.00 to participate in the survey and that they were going to send me a package in the mail with a camera to take photos of me in four outfits. This was not Land's End for sure.
I got a call just now from this number, but there was no one on the line when I answered. I called back, and there was no answer. I did buy a Land's End sweater a few weeks ago.
