Caller said his name was Jason (light middle eastern accent), from GE & Honeywell Corp in Ohio. Caller ID said Ohio. He said his records show that my home security system is over three years old and that my payments are $45 per month and that they would be in my area and I could have a new GE wireless system installed for free. I asked him what area.....he couldn't answer. Then I told him that I've had Simply Safe for over two years and that my payments are $25 per month. He said well that's o.k., I'll call back another time because we are only updating our records. they're probably collecting data on who has security systems so they can break in to their houses.
Live caller, mine went much like the above. Claimed their records show I had an ADT alarm system (maybe, maybe not) so I let them think so. Claimed they were from Honeywell and ADT had "failed" to update my unit, and they were going to replace it. After some dialogue, it was clear they were intended on replacing my ADT unit and monitoring for their own. They were going to change me to Monitronics for the monitoring, and Alliance Security would be installing it.
Alliance Security has already been settled with the FTC due to their millions of DNC and Robocall violations. They have obviously not corrected all their violations:
Just got a call from this number… They declined to leave a message… CID = "GTE INTERNET"
I am on the Fed & my State Do Not Call Registries which are both absolutely worthless…
