I had the same thing just happen to me now at my work. Except without the expletives. He just hung up because I went along with and thought it was one of our suppliers introducing himself in a weird way.
Same thing here - asked for the head of maintenance by name. The call went to voicemail so of course the guy called back and insisted I paged for the employee. I pretended to do so, while instead looked up his number and realized it was a scam. When I went back to him I let him know the employee was unavailable and asked if he'd like to leave a voicemail. That's when he pulled the cell phone crap. "Can I get his cell phone number? I've gotten it before. I just got the new iPhone 6 and lost all my contacts." Wow...do people actually fall for this BS? Sorry pal, I don't give out ANYONE'S cell phone number. Then he insisted I page again. So I pretended to do so and finally he said he'd leave a voicemail. Get a real job loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy has been calling all morning. He had our receiving person paged. He then called me and said “You are harder to get a hold of than my wife’s boyfriend” then a bunch of expletives. This guy obviously has some extremely low self esteem and is dealing with some debilitating insecurities.

Had the same thing y'all did today with "Joe". Also gave me the same line “You are harder to get a hold of than my wife’s boyfriend”. When I told him I was busy and get to the point, he hung up. I've seen the scammers do this to get a name and then they send some un-ordered product to your attention--which to receiving, look legit, so they accept it. We've seen this with cleaning supplies, toner, etc.. Hopefully, that's not what it is because once they invoice you, they harass for payment claiming "you ordered it, it has your name on it." I turn them over to legal but it's still a pain.
