I have gotten several calls to my cell phone from this number, same scam $120 gas card from my "mastercard", but they can't tell me what bank my "mastercard" is associated with and they want me to pay for shipping for my reward package. I, however, have never purchased a Snuggie or anything else from that company.
Caller said that she was with ATU and had a free gift card for me and my husband for using our mastercard credit card,(which we don't have). She asked if I wanted a toll-free number or to wait for a package with their offer of a free gas card etc. I told her I'd wait for the package. And then she asked for my name, so that it could go out on the package and I said that wasn't necessary, to just send it to my husbands name. She asked twice more for my name and when I again insisted that she send it to the name she already had, she became agitated and hung up. This number has shown up before on my caller id and sometimes they just hang up without ever answering.
Caller called,from the above phone number, stating that 'I am calling about your Visa card'; when I asked 'what's wrong with my Visa card?', the woman said 'nothing is wrong with your Visa card;, then proceeded to go into her spiel; at that point I told her I wasn't interested, and then I hung up on her. These people have called me before, and tried to send me a 'packet' for a $1.00 charge, but I hung up on them, that time, too!
The caller id is 'SYN'. SYN has also been calling me from 213-732-2509. Is it possible they have software that fakes different area codes and phone numbers? Multiple daily calls, no messages left. Judging from previous entries, sounds like a scam to get credit card numbers.
Thinking this was a telemarketing call (I've received several from this number), I decided to ask a question after she asked to verify my identity which was, "Are you from Wells Fargo?". To my surprise she answered, "Yes it is". I told her I would have to call her back and she disconnected before I even ended the cell call.
616-980-2176 CALLED ASKING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT MY 8 YEAROLD CHILD. CLAIMING THAT SHE HAD A CREDIT CARD ENDING IN A CERTAIN NUMBER. I WENT OFF ON THE LADY TELLING HER THAT MY 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WOULDN'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD. I ASKED HER WHAT COMPANY SHE WAS WITH AND SHE STATED IT WAS SYNERGY. I ASKED WHAT CREDIT CARD COMPANY WAS THAT? SHE SAID I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY CREDIT CARD COMPANY OR BANK. I THEN SAID WHAT DO YOU WANT THEN. SHE SAID DO YOU HAVE A CREDIT CARD ENDING IN THAT SAME NUMBER AND I SAID YOU DIDN'T CALL TO SPEAK TO ME. SHE SAID THANK YOU AND HUNG UP!!! I HAD MY HUSBAND CALL THEM AND HE GOT AN ANSWERING MACHINE FROM A MARKETING DEPARTMENT.
