This is the new style of telemarket ,
they call but will hang up When you
pick up to make you curious to call them
And also that way you can not sued them
for bother you because actualy you are the
one who call them.
Every body please do not pick up phone
if the number is not in your list or you
don't know... I have been doing this for a
long time and I'm hardly bothered .
I was in my office and my cell rang. I usually don't answer numbers i don't recognize especially out-of-state, but since it was local I did and he ask if I was concerned about the security of my house and would I be interested in a fre security check if I allowed them to post a sign advertising their security business. I asked him how large the sign was and the voice said, "That's a good question for a security business, let me connect you to a supervisor who will give you a full explanation of the service - it will only take 30 seconds". First he asked me to say my name, then I heard a click like I was being transferred and when I looked at my phone - I had been disconnected! What a scam!
I got a call from this number today. He claimed his name was Dan and that I had requested information about furthering my education. I told him I did not request any because I was already in college. He said "Thank you for your time" and hung up. He sounded very automated. No emotion and sounded like the person at the other end clicked a certain response to what I answered back. But yes, this was a spam call.
I get calls from this scam artist/telemarketer every few weeks to both my cell phone and landline. It's always "Dave" looking for a house in my area for a free GE home security system... I tell them to stop calling, not interested and on do-not-call list. They say they'll remove my number from their system... then the next week I get a call from the same "Dave" just from a different number. I'm about to file a complaint with my state's Attorney General Office.
