I received this unwanted call representing Microsoft Company & Windows 7. At that point I hung up
The person identified himself as Harry and had an accent.
Left 2 messages on my answering machine claiming I was named in an IRS lawsuit and to call them back for details. The call was from an Alton, IL phone number, and asked me to call a 202 area code number (Washington D.C.). I did not call them back but it sounded suspicious. Every other communication I've had with the IRS has been via mail. Sounds like a scam to get you to surrender some tax info or personal identifiers/info. BEWARE!!!
I got a phone call from this no. +16184631412, and on my screen it says Alton, IL.. Don't know. Anyone from Illinois, then when I picked it up, no ones answering... Then I googled the no. And them boom! It's a scam.. " eh di wow"
Rec'd call to my cell. Answered the call, I heard background noise but it sounded more like some people at a home than a call center. Finally someone with a thick accent came on and said they were with some home products company like "best products" or something like that. He said he wasn't selling anything and that my number had been chosen randomly. Caller informed me that I had won some sort of prize. I said I wasn't interested and hung up. The call in general seemed really unprofessional and his script was poorly rehearsed.
