I got a call from these [***] a few minutes ago too. They're trying to collect some alleged debt I supposedly owe from 16 years ago. YES... sixteen years ago (are these people desperate or what?!?)
Obviously they've never heard of something called the "Statute of limitations", which means all they're able to do is harass me and use lies and threats and intimidation, hoping that I'm so stupid and uneducated and dumb enough to believe what they tell me (ironic since someone working at a place like this likely never made it past the tenth grade).
I've told them before I don't owe them any money for anything, but they don't care... they just want "their" money. It does no good trying to reason with these Neanderthals, so the best thing to do is just block their calls. You don't have to deal with these knuckle-draggers if you don't want to...
Consumers are becoming more sophisticated, and thanks to technology they just don't have to deal with these abusive lowlifes like they may have had to in the past.
I began recieving these calls about two weeks ago. It was odd, them asking for "so and so" and using my ex's name...I asked "who's this?" and they sounded like an echo and I asked for ID and they hung up. Not cool! They love to interupt me around 7pm so I assigned the number a silent ringtone...problem - solved (for now)! Oh, I also called back and the msg was for a Portfolio Recovery.
