I've been getting calls from this number for the past 2 weeks. I answered once, but nothing on the other end. I'm tired of getting calls from them AND I'm on the National Do Not Call list. What good is it?
I have received a phone call from Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC on 01/15/10 claiming I owe a debt. When she tried verified my information she had an address I lived on when I was 17 years of age. I obviously did not have any credit cards at that time. And she had my married name which I was not married until 1999. 6 days later I received a letter regarding the debt. This letter did not have the information about my right to be able to dispute the debt with 30 days, to be able to request the name and address of the original creditor or the assumption that the debt will be valid unless you dispute it with 30 days. If I had not been researching on my computer about my rights I would have never know I had the right to dispute anything. I have looked through my credit reports from 2006 through last week and I do not see this debt anywhere matching this amount anywhere. It is 10.00 off an amount I had paid back in 2007. But that was paid off! I also did not receive my letter with 5 days. I can not see if it is within the Statue of Limitations because it does not appear on my report. They have called me all hours of the night and day. Even before 8 and after 9 but I did not think to long it. I am now and keeping the #’s on my cell phone. They have also called me for example 3 times in a row. I am not sure if I should send a validation request or if they have already violated my rights already.
I sent a validation of debt and got notice that they signed for the letter. I am still getting calls from them. They are really now violating my rights!
Received a call at 4:37PM today from this number. It is Portfolio Recovery Associates. Message was left for a person who is not me. I didn't call them back.
