Is it the law that professional, real companies leave messages? What are our rights? I'm getting calls on charged off debts from 15 years ago. Isn't there a statue of limitations or something?

check your state, there are statute of limitations on these things. Which they try and call and trick people into paying. Once you pay a penny the clock starts ticking again. Report them to you local Attorney General.
Portfolio Recovery Associates Inc began calling me last Friday. They called Monday and Tuesday as well. I sent them a certified "cease and desist" letter which I know that they recieved yesterday at 10:45 am. Yet they called me again today. Apparently they are just going to ignore it.
