I have received calls from these a**holes for many years. The number they call me from is 620-662-8870. It has got to the point that I have to keep my home phone turned off and I am SICK of this s***!!! Just filed a complaint with the FTC. These people are low-lifes looking to collect on way past due debts and/or debts you do not even owe. I saw something about them on Dateline and they are scam artisits!!! DO NOT TALK TO THEM OR GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!! If you do owe at past due debt, check yout state's statute of limitations.........FILE COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE, ETC. THESE A**HOLES NEED TO BE STOPPED DEAD IN THEIR TRACKS!!!!
I've gotten a couple calls this week. And last week. And the week before that. And the week . . . Does anyone know if the incoming call can be blocked? They're annoying -- I NEVER answer a call from a number I don't recognize. Interestingly, they call on my cell phone which isn't even in my name. Sneaky little devils, eh?
I have gotten 3 calls - all from different #'s - from this outfit in past 2 days. Two today, from this # and another listed on this site, 877-704-9454. Apparently Portfolio Recovery Associates - two messages, one call with none. Messages were from different men, different script, but both in line with others reported for company. They buy-up old, long-beyond statute of limitations debts, then autodial to reach someone live on occasion, where they can coax or threaten something from some naíve, probably elderly respondent. I was divorced several years ago, and had my attorney handle everything - there was nothing major, and everything was current. Nothing since which is ever past due of major either. I figure they are either completely mistaken, or my lawyer may have let some minor item "slip between the cracks." If so, way beyong any period of collectibility. These folks just dial incessantly, and pick-up where note first call answered live. Other "live-answered" calls may be ignored; unanswered ones may go to voice mail, or may not. They have plethora of #'s, and some indicate "not in service" or "disconnected" if you call back (always use *67 if curious and you decide to dial a #). Just these bottom-feeding weasels using technology, where if they coax some money from just one of MANY #'s dialed, company and rep. make something. But be cautious, in that if you ever get into wrong type of discussion about an old debt, can result in it being berought back to currency - so provide nothing and hang-up if you ever inadertantly answer or get on-line with one of these crooks.
