Great answer! Yep, its a very OLD tactic that scumbag collection companies use. the debt is NO longer valid. they buy them for pennies, use volume/auto dialers to reach as many people as possible. NEVER answer the phone, and if you do, hang up once they identify themselves. IF debt is old you owe nothing!
Portfolio Recovery 1400 complaints closed with BBB in last 3 years, over 400 in 2014. They buy own charge off debt, meaning if you are not living in their state, tell them to f**k off.feel free to abuse them. IRS is on their trail for tax fraud. we'll be closing them down.
620-708-4671L Not only do these guys call me 2 and 3 times back to back, but they are calling any day of the week, at all hours of the day!!!!!!! They don't leave a message and this morning, their call actually locked up my phone to the point I had to turn it off for a half an hour to get the call to hang up!!!!
I know this is illegal, but I have no idea what to do. I also know this is Capital One trying to collect a debt. Not going to happen!!!
