Every couple of weeks, we keep receiving phone calls from the same person, who does not want to leave his name, company name or phone number. Our company has a spy phone so I am able to jot down the caller's number. I recognize his voice and his message every time. I've been an executive assistant for over 25 years. Do you honestly think I don't recognize a voice or an unwanted solitation call? You'll have to go through me if you want an audience with my boss, that's NOT going to happen...and that's why I get paid the big bucks!
I have also been an exec asst for many, many years. As my boss says, not much gets past the palace guard. I love when they ask me if there's a better time to get through to him. Let me think, uh, NEVER! I had one jerk who would call 5-6 times a day and just hang up when I answered. He had the nerve to ask me if I ever go to lunch, as if that would help him get through. Idiot--we have a receptionist. Do you think she hasn't been briefed! Get the hint already. You are never, ever going to talk to my boss.
I have had the same thing going on for the past couple of weeks. Dan Kuhar keeps calling asking to speak to the CEO and mentions him by name. Every time I tell him that the is not avail. and if he wants to leave a message, he says no and wants to know when a good time to get a hold of him is. I told him this morning that his best bet would be to leave a message and I would give it to the CEO (not) or his assistant. He said that he would like it to go to the CEO - I told him that his assistant would handle it and if he felt he needed a call back that he would call....for goodness sakes...give up already!!!! ugh.
