Who called from 6465832973

Received call @ 1:46p.m. Jan. 13,2017. Was busy so I just let it go to VM. When I checked the message the man on the other end identified himself as Kevin Williams w/ the Criminal Justice Legal Law Services. His callback # (646)583-2963. He sounded more Indian than anything but his accent kept changing throughout the message. He had a lil Southern accent like from Texas once, even Australian at one point. He never did say who his call was intended for. Just that My name had been reported blah, blah, blah. And it was of great importance that I call back right away or an arrest warrant would be issued for my arrest.  Really!?!? Gimme a dam break!

I got two of this in the past two days. and it keeps going to my Android's Tracfone voice mail - that I hardly ever use. Anyone know how to turn that off after it is set up?

Listen Up People.

This is how I tried (at least) to get back at these SCAMMERs. This may or may not work for you depending on your phone. In my case it is an Android.

The first thing I did was install a call blocker app so I do not get these calls. That by itself was not enough since any blocked calls are sent to Voice mail. I had activated Voice mail several months ago, and since it's a Tracfone there is no way to deactivate it.

But my phone has Call Forwarding settings:
Busy - Call blocker uses this (read below - Funny :-)
Unanswered - Unblocked calls
Used my old cell for this - never set up Voice mail on it.
Unreachable - Phone turned off
Hardly ever turn phone off - so should not be used.

Now as to the Busy setting, this is where I *really* would like to get back at these SCAMMERs for both:
1. Wasting my valuable time - And minutes - on Voice Mail - Which I never use anyway.
2. For trying to scare naive people out of there hard-earned money.

Here is where it gets funny - Or maybe Not So Funny if it backfires. I set the Busy forwarding to the White Plains Police Department. (No I will not post that here - You can get that off of there website).

The reason I did that is that the SCAMMERs number - 646-583-2973 - originated out of lower NY State in the vicinity of White Planes. And a Live Person answers the phone. So I am hoping the Police track down and arrest these SCAMMERs.

Finally the last thing I did was to send a Concise, Nasty text message back to their number - Including a small jpg attachment of the middle finger (if you know what I mean).

I don't know if these SCAMMERs can receive text messages, and I really don't care. It just felt good to tell them off, and if they did get the message - so much the better. I hope they choke on it!

It's Time To Fight Back!

Do Not Just Roll Over and let these SCAMMERs Harass, Intimidate or otherwise B.S. You.

Let Them Have It.

It's time they get a new gig, and go elsewhere.

Everybody Else - Have A Wonderful Day!

Don't
worry, the cops will find you since your number appears on their caller id, not the other party.

Mr. Ed
I read in another post (not related to this one) that the originating Caller ID passes through when the call is forwarded.

I am not going to worry about this (just yet) since I don't live any where near White Planes, and if the Police do come around asking questions I can always point to my previous post and explain I was trying to sting a [***] Scammer.

However, if the White Plains PD asks me to not forward those calls I will cease. Otherwise I plan to remove the forwarding after the calls cease.

P.S. It looks like I misspelled Plains in my earlier post.

Planes, Plains - oh well.
