I was contacted at my place of employment about a student loan, and my employer was also contacted about this loan, several times. These actions are illegal -violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1692 et seq. (“FDCPA”).

I hired a lawyer and settled out of court. I received several thousand dollars, and one of the terms of the settlement is that I am free to publicize Account Control Technology's illegal activities. These activities are violations of Federal Law, but they are highly profitable, and so Account Control Technology and other collection agencies use them against law-abiding Americans.

Yea they called me and asked for my dad on my cell phone! how do they get my cell number and im getting like three calls a day! its ridiculous

They called and asked me if I was so and so and asked me what my
birth date was.  I told her that I don't give out private information over
the phone.  I don't know her from Adam.  I asked her to stop calling since there's no one here by that name to begin with.  She called back right after that.  I didn't pick up.

LISTEN [***], THINGS HAPPEN IN LIFE. Some times you cant pay all your bills. Some times you loose your job, Or there's a death in the family, Or like Me you signed up for a four year school qualified for the loan started your classes and 3 months later the school goes out of business overnight!!! Locks out the students and the faculty with no notice whatsoever.( the masters institute San Jose California 2001)  this is the kind of things that happen to real people not the kind of people who can go running to mommy and daddy every time they need money to bail there butts out!!!  this was over 10 years ago I have been round and round with lawyers and Sally Mae, and ED Fund, and dozens of  fly by night collections agency's for years now the Loan was actually dismissed at one time by ED fund due to the school closure. 2 years later the collections company's start calling again. come to find out they are trying to overturn my dismissal and continue on with the collection efforts,. ITS NOT MY FAULT SALLY MAE GAVE THEM THE ENTIRE TUITION BEFORE I WAS 3 MONTHS INTO THE COURSE.  Dont they do some kind of research on these so called "approved" schools I actually enrolled in a school that was on a list that was given to me by my Sally Mae REP. I have also read that it is against the law for them to sell the note on your student loan debt, then why have I been dealing with so many different collections agency's who are passing themselves off as ED Fund representatives, 4 different collection companys right now have put negative remarks on my credit report in addition to Sally Mae and Ed Fund...too bad I never got to go to school so I could get a good education and a good job and pay back that student loan guess that's just life in the real world.  A@#hole

I got a call from them representing that degree dump University of Phoenix. They said I owed them for a class I never took, I protested it on my credit report, and experian/trans/equifax all removed it.

These people are scum.
