If you believe you are being unfairly harassed by phone and you have their phone number, maybe it is time to treat those folks with their own “medicine”, call  that number  10, 20, 50, 100 times a day . . . . .      for the next few weeks….

They did not leave voice mail but I did get their number. Correctly assumed it was a bill collector after calling them. I attended UOP for a semester about 3 years ago. DCS (their number is 661-395-5985) is the UOP collection agency. When I called DCS I gave the receptionist my UOP account number and she forwarded me to Megan, who is handling my case. VERY busy and very nice woman the doesn't have a lot of time to talk on the phone.

So, I succinctly told her my Federal tax is 60% of what I owe. DCS will take that. Sucks, but I knew where this was going before I called. I just now left voice mail with her to call me so I can find out what I still owe and set up payments.

Being in debt really sucks. Still there since I graduated in 1977 but I'm almost free!!!

Student loan fool
Ummm, How does my not paying a student loan stiff the tax payers? I was young & naive when I signed up for a $4000 loan from a trade school yrs ago. I was paying it off when my emloyers closed their doors & filed bakrupcy (3 back to back jobs folded - what a bad time for me). So a few yrs went by that I defaulted on it. Now my $4000 loan has a balance of $26000. That is after making regular payments (while I was working) & 3 tax return garnishments. So in other words, I do not feel the least bit guilty about "your" tax dollars. I pay my taxes and $4000/yr for the next 6 yrs. (4 1/2 yrs now). The government is making over a $30K profit from me and my original measly $4000 loan. So blah, blah, blah about your tax dollars. We are not the deficit's problem nor the cause of it! And right now I'm paying more than my share to help it.
