This is a company called Donor Services Group. Orgs hire DSG to make calls for them or solicit donations. Today I got one from this number saying they are with MoveOn.org. Next month it might be the Humane Society or the Police Officer's Fund or whatever. I'm tired of telemarketing calls too, but there's no harm in listening if you want, donating if you want, or politely declining if you want.
This number has called twice. First time on a Saturday night and left a voicemail with heavy breathing and what sounded like a call center in the back. They called again on a Tuesday afternoon, no voicemail.
Keep getting calls from this number, wont id themselves when they leave a message. I never return calls that dont tell me their organization and reason for the call.
I never answer unknown calls. If they don't instantly leave a voicemail, then I look the number up online. Glad I did! Based on most of these comments, this number isn't legit at all.
