This is a company called Donor Services Group. Orgs hire DSG to make calls for them or solicit donations. Today I got one from this number saying they are with MoveOn.org. Next month it might be the Humane Society or the Police Officer's Fund or whatever. I'm tired of telemarketing calls too, but there's no harm in listening if you want, donating if you want, or politely declining if you want.
I didn't answer the number but it said it was from Santa Clarita, CA. As I live in Seattle and know no one in California, it strikes me as immediately suspicious. I am also on the 'Do Not Call' list.
I received a call from this number this afternoon and the caller said he is calling on behalf of the the IRC and he is collecting $$, before I respond to that, he said he is hearing noises on the background and he is going to call me back and hang up. Scammers!!!!!
