I ignored the call and they left a voicemail. I listened to the voicemail and some girl went "hello? Hello?" then after a few seconds, started playing some song. I'm glad I have an iPhone because it tells you where the call is from. It said it was from palmdale area. Somewhere in California.
Called my cell, asked for an unintelligible name. Thick accent. I asked who was calling, they said "UPS. You have a UPS package" and asked for what sounded like that same name again. I asked again who was calling -- clearly it wasn't UPS -- and they hung up.
661-748-0245 Caller stated they were with US embassy in Peru and had a relative in Jail and needed money sent to Cuzco, Peru to get relative into court so they could fly home. They had all the information "ALMOST" correct. sounds like Fecebook research. Presented themselves as a US attorney Ron Stein with The US Embassy in Lima, Peru. SCAM. SCAM SCAM!!! No money was sent by us. BEWARE
Yes, my daughter uses Skype but has no number with them. This is the number that shows if I miss a call from her. Probabaly scammers know they can call from a free Skype account and this number will show which has no connection to them.
