Last year my doc suggested a CAT-scan just to see if we could see anything. Before i walked in the door i called BC/BS and they said it was covered under insurance. When i walked in the recep said it was all covered by insurance. However, when i was walking out I was stopped and told I owe then $500! I don't have that kind of money - that's why i asked PRIOR. All my other procedures charged up-front so I knew what to expect.
Now "Autumn" from Brent Stamp's office is calling with the automated voice mail. I called and got Kimberly (i assume the same one mentioned above). She essentially said it's between me and my insurance company, but i owe the $500.
We have thousands of illegal immigrants receiving free healthcare and they're jumping my butt over $500. Good luck - can't squeeze money out of a turnip!
I recently had a CAT-Scan and it was approved by BC/BS before I walked in.
I received a bill from the CAT-Scan and a notice from BC/BS that I did not have an account. I was not asked for money at the time of service
Upon further research - I discoved the CAT-Scan office transposed my insurance account number when they submitted the billing which was the reason for the rejection - not BC/BS.
I contacted them and gave them my correct account number and that was when the transposed info was discovered. I was told to disregard the bill and the resubmitted to BC/BS.
They are rude and unhelpful! I had over 18 bills from Northside Hospital and these idiots want me to pay all of it or get on a payment plan that pays it off in 6 months! Helllllllllloooooooo I am unemployed> Where do you presume that I get all this money from. They will not send you a bill and they are very unprofessional.
I couldn't agree more. I have nothing against illegal immigrants, but they get to pop out babies for free and file emergency medicaid. And when the babies are born they get on Medicaid. Unfair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
