I believe this is a scam. They called the next day after I called the marketplace saying something in regards to the 1095A. The crazy thing is, I spoke with a manager the day before and they solved my situation. The +1 (701) 264-3124 called the next day insisting he needed all my info so he could make sure I got my form. Luckily I had like 3 different addresses so they were confused when I gave them one. They then called again, same person, trying to say the same thing they said yesterday. Something is not right. I hope I'm not in trouble bc I gave them my SSN during verification bc I was so annoyed and thought it was the health marketplace not getting their information correct.
Female caller, asked for me by my first name and said she was calling from the Healthcare Marketplace in regards to a correction on our 1095a form. We already had that resolved about a week ago so immediately red flags went up. Wanted me to verify my first and last name and address. I said we had already received our corrected 1095a and so the call made no sense (plus what was she going to do, give me a document over the phone?) She said if it was resolved then we could terminate the call and if I had any questions I could call them at some 800 #. Be aware! She sounded super legit. I just happened to have had my issue already resolved.
Received a call from a male with an accent who said he was calling from Healthcare.gov about my 1095A and he needed some information to verify who he was talking to. i advised him that he had called me and should have that info; that I was not comfortable providing that over the phone. I told him if he needed any additional information he should e-mail me through Healthcare.gov. He tried to give me a call back # first, but I told him I was not in a position to write it down, and insisted on an e-mail. He then said that I had the Healthcare.gov number, and could call there. When I called Healthcare.gov, they stated that they had not tried to call me; that they would have e-mailed, and verified that it was a scam.
I've gotten two calls from this number today. The first time a man left a message, and the second time he called I answered.He said his name was Steve and it was about the 1095A form, I told him I had looked up the number and several people had gotten the same call but from different people and he laughed. It still seems like something isn't right about this, and we're going to make a call and check it out. I'm thinking if it's for real the MarketPlace would send us an email, it says on the caller ID that it is Insurance MarketPlace.
This number is listed on the HealthCare.gov website as a valid caller ID number for them.
