Don't call them. If you call they'll know you listened and that makes you a target for more scams, more calls.
They are probably using a spoofed number or a VOIP number. The call is really coming from outside the US.
Telephone scamming is not high priority with law enforcement. The few scammers in the US know that. They move often and law enforcement doesn't have time to track them down.
Same thing, garbled message about an arrest warrant. Why doesn't the FBI or someone go after these [***]. The number is similar to a call I used to get from person who will save me....geez..
Left a message from this number stating I had an arrest warrant and to call back urgently. I did not. They called again and I picked up. The middle eastern accent was hard to understand but they were asking for me by name. After I asked him to repeat or get someone with better english on the line, he hung up. No more calls since.
I just received a call from this number from a man with a heavy Indian accent informing me that an arrest warrant has been issued in my name and that I'd better call them back immediately. My caller ID shows Sterling, VA, though I doubt they reside there. I owe no taxes and know the IRS would not proceed in such a way, if I had a tax liability. I thought it was a scam and others reporting re: the same calls here seem to corroborate my thoughts.
Same thing. Man with Strong Indian accent saying he had warrants for my arrest for tax fraud and to call right away. Total scam. Do not call these people back or they will continue to harass you. Simply report them and the #.
Just received a call from a heavily accented male asking for me by name and saying he wanted to speak about the "lawsuit filed against you by IRS." When I said "Excuse me?" the call was disconnected. There was also another identifying number on the caller id:V3231583600039.
