John, we are also on the do not call list, I told them that and during that phone call he had the nerve to say "Listen Lady" I said no you listen, Its my phone, my computer and my business stop calling I know you are not with microsoft and this is a scam. He started to argue with me more but I hung up. I too have gotten calls at all hours usually they number is "out of area" or "Private" this is the first time in several months of getting these calls that I have a number. If you figure out how to get rid of them let me know. By the way, not only are we on the do not call list we also pay to have an unlisted phone number. Good Luck
Been getting calls every night between 9:30 pm and midnight. Have never answered so don't know what scam they are using. Just the fact that they are calling that late at night is suspicious
Received a call from someone who said he was from Microsoft security and that the computer accached to our network was infected with malware. I asked him which computer, since we had three home computers and two work computers on the network at that time. He said that if was the computer running Windows. Nice try. I told him that we were all up to date with virus and internet security. He was still very persistent until I finally hung up.
Got a call from this number saying my computer had something very wrong with it. He said he was with Microsoft and had very heavy accent. Total scam. He said the were the only ones that could fix it since it was sending error messages to them only. Knew he was a liar!!
Got the call, They came up with a new number. I jack with them. When I answered the call he went on and on..... I acted shocked and supprised and told him I only use my computer to pay all my bills and it had all my bank account numbers and credit card numbers, user name and passwords stored. I work in IT so I'm not stupid. I told him I was running Windows 3.1. Now if you remember,.. that was the VERY first windows Microsoft ever made. It hasn't been used since oh,... I'd say the late 90's??? We all know Windows 95 hit and microsoft went gang busters making new operating systems after that. He haad no clue and went on about what I needed to do. I called him on it and told him "windows 3.1" was the first windows ever made and laughed my butt of at him he didn't know what to say. I also told him NEVER did I give "Microsoft" my phone number and I was onto his BS scam. "Microsoft" has better things to do than sit around and baby sit people. they are in the business of making money and making software. Not calling people to be nice. He hung up.....like I didn't see that comming...WHAT A MORON!!!
