They called me trying to collect on a commercial account for Staples. I pointed out to them that the account was not personally guaranteed, and it was in the name of a corporation which has since closed and has no assets. This poor hillbilly sounding lady said to me... Well aren't you proud? I also pointed out to this hillbilly lady that I'm aware of the debt collectors tactics because they are getting desperate. They also lied and told me the account was personally guaranteed which it is not.
Me tooo! They won't stop calling! They even called my dad who has my same name and he got all pissed at me thinking I was trying to hide some credit debt! I was SO pissed!
How is it possible that this company can continue, considering their unethical business practice? See below:
NCO Receives FISMA Certification From Department of Education
HORSHAM, PA, 12/16/2009 - NCO Group, Inc. (“NCO”), a global provider of business process outsourcing services, is pleased to announce that it has received their Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) Certification from the Department of Education.
According to the National Institute of National Standards and Technology, “The act recognized the importance of information security to the economic and national security interests of the United States. The act requires each federal agency to develop, document, and implement an agency-wide program to provide information security for the information and information systems that support the operations and assets of the agency, including those provided or managed by another agency, contractor, or other source.”
This year, the Federal Student Aid (FSA) changed its requirements to establish a continuous monitoring program to ensure that controls are reviewed on a consistent basis and that documentation is up to date. To that end, the US Department of Education required that its third-party collections agencies comply with FISMA and to ensure that the system maintains its accreditation and “Authorization to Process” by the end of October 2009. On October 2nd, 2009, NCO was one of only a handful of agencies to submit final documentation and complete the certification process in 2009.
This certification further strengthens NCO commitment in providing information security to its clients and their customers.

Called my wife's cell today asking for my brother & his wife who live in another state. Told them I would not give out their info and not to call me back. They promptly called my cell phone and after tell her in no uncertain terms not to call back, I hung up on her. She immediately called back and I told her I would file harassment charges. She then called my father-in-law in yet another state...
I promptly filed a Harassment charge with the Charlotte Police Department
