This caller continues to call regarding reducing your interest rate. When I held on the line to talk to a live person to have my name removed, they hung up on me.
Got a call from this number on Feb. 15, 2013 at 4:49pm.
The message said something about "This is your credit card company calling. If you want to lower your rates, press 1"
I pressed 1 because I'm on a do-not-call list for all my lines, and wanted to get as much info on the caller as possible to file an FCC complaint. A man named "Roger" answered. There was a lot of static on the line, and it sounded like the connection was from overseas on a compressed digital line (very congested IP line).
I asked for the name of the caller, and got "Roger". I asked for the company name, and "Roger" repeated my last name about a dozen times. I did not confirm the name. Just kept asking for the company name, which eventually was provided as "Credit Card Services". So, it's clear we've got a scam on our hands.
I then asked Roger for a call-back number. He asked why I just don't get a lower credit card rate from him right there and then. I told him for security, I want to be able to call them back. At that point he cursed me out in Italian and hang up.
This is almost certainly a scam, so beware. I'm filing an FCC complaint online right now. All of you should do the same.
