I have been receiving the same calls daily, telling me that I need to call TODAY, me or my lawyer to resolve a matter where my personal information has been compromised. Some of the calls are from an area 45 mins away from where I live in Arkansas, and the others are from Alabama, Colorado, and Tennessee with the SAME voice robotic recording, pretty much demanding you to make contact.
Just got the same call in el Paso county Colorado I immediately called the number back not working I called the county courthouse and nothing for the case number given this is obviously a scam of some sorts using terry gross' name
I've gotten several of these calls in the past and one today. Once I answer and took all the info they gave me and asked for a call back number. I called my bank and had then run a credit check to see if I owned anyone. They told me no, so I called back and informed them my bank showed I owed no one and I gave the bank their contact information. They hung up on me. Not sure if it the same number as last time, but will handle the same way this time.
I got the same scripted VM. Called and Verizon said it wasn't a working #. Called a few mins later and got through this time (weird). Anyway the lady was rude and saying a bunch of BS about me owing cashnetusa $750. Said I'm being sued for breach of contract and for defrauding (which is apparently when you get a payday loan and close your bank acct so they can't charge you...). So I told her I disputed this claim and she informed me that I'd be subpoenaed at my last known address to go to court. She said I had to have a lawyer and could NOT represent myself (um excuse me?), and that if they can't find my location I'll be tried anyway and assumed guilty since by being in the phone with her I was acknowledging that I'm aware of the issue. I told her I know my rights and that most of what she's saying is crap and she tells me I have no right to record this call and it won't be admissible in court. She was pissed lol. Go ahead and sue me; I'll come right back at you and countersue you fools!
