I have been receiving the same calls daily, telling me that I need to call TODAY, me or my lawyer to resolve a matter where my personal information has been compromised. Some of the calls are from an area 45 mins away from where I live in Arkansas, and the others are from Alabama, Colorado, and Tennessee with the SAME voice robotic recording, pretty much demanding you to make contact.
Script of the call:
"I'm contacting you from the process and summons division. I'm calling to notify you that there will be two charges filed against you in your county. Looks like fraudulent activity has been attached to your name and SSN. I do need to make you aware of your legal rights to address your charges before they are filed against you. You will need to do so before you receive your summons at your place of employment or at your home address. Once you're served your rights will be forfeited. Your case number is ******. Their telephone number is 708-983-7973. You will need to speak to someone in their legal department."
Called back, they stated a case had been filed, yet refused to provide a complaint number. Man stated his name was Brian Howard. He refused to answer questions, stating that I was not going to interview him or attack him
ike I funny just got the same crazy call its just rediculous...Spoke to a Mellissa that told me she was calling from their Houston office when I asked for the address she told me she was located down town on Jackson street but she couldnt give me the exact address for security purposes. Like I said earlier rediculous.
That amount of bovine excrement in a single phone call must be some sort of record!
> I'm contacting you from the process and summons division
"process and summons division"??? Of what?
> I'm calling to notify you that there will be two charges filed against you
Being NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE of charges being filed? That's hilarious! What kind of law enforcement agency would work that way? Hey crooks! We're going to be filing charges against you! Just wanted to let you know in advance!
> fraudulent activity has been attached to your name and SSN
What does "fraudulent activity" mean? Nothing. How can it be "attached" to an SSN?
> your legal rights to address your charges before they are filed
How can you address charges when they haven't been filed yet? Nonsense.
> Once you're served your rights will be forfeited
Well, at least that one is a simple, outright lie!
You shouldn't even have called back these frauds. You should report them to the police IMMEDIATELY. Especially since you have a working phone number for them.
