I also received a call from this number stating they were from a law firm. I would recommend never give any personal information over the phone and limiting who actually needs your phone number. Department stores state they need it for their return policy but this is untrue. Your information is sold to marketing companies by stores and other organizations to net additional profits even though you did not consent to the sharing of your information.
Received a call this afternoon from "Robert Preston" (I looked and there is an attorney by that name, BTW) at "Northeast Mediation." Said it was regarding a legal matter and I (or my legal representative) must call him today. Left call back number of 877-876-5291.
Got a call this morning. I didn't answer. They left a message stating they were from Northeastern Mediation (the name on the caller ID showed up as Processing) calling about a legal matter. Received a call from this number this morning stating they were Allen Downing calling regarding a final notice in regards to a pre-legal matter that I've been named in. They go on to say that I have a final opportunity to resolve this matter at a lower rate by end of day today. Otherwise they will no longer be able to help me settle this. However they never said settle what. They left a contact # of 888-742-8365. I know this is a scam because I have no dept. besides my home.
Received a phone call from an 888-742-8365 and an 877 number in the past two weeks. Same message - legal matter, needs attention, have until end of day. No explanation at all as to what legal matters this entails, no official letter of any kind stating the issue, etc. Did not leave a company name , but the girl did give her name. Probably fake. I use the Mr. Number app on my cell and it shows the blocked number of 718-690-3386. If this helps in catching these people, all the better.
Received a call this number and three others (888-742-8365, 302-450-1317, and 916-674-5292) also received a text message from Allen Downing. Upon calling the number back, a very rude gentleman answered and would not give any information. He stated that he was attempting to contact my disabled adult child even though he had called her sibling to get her information. She has no debt, I maintain her life. Thank you for this site to relieve my mind.
