Caller left a message saying he was Joseph Davis from Northeastern and that a claim had been entered for pre-legal treatment against my name and SSN...
I have received 9 calls from this criminal group since May 4, as follows:
I received 4 calls from a caller who identified himself as Rick Powers with NARG. He claims that documents have been filed with his office in a pre-legal matter associated with my name and social security number. He says that I need to contact his office and provide my attorney's name and provide a financial statement by next Friday. Legal action is threatened if I don't comply. The last 2 calls from him were even more threatening. Phone numbers/Caller IDs used by this scumbag were: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX; 718-690-3386/Austin, TX (718 is actually the area code for Brooklyn, NY); 916-674-5292/Sloughhouse, CA; and 205-543-5210/Warrior, AL.
Another caller from this group identified herself as Lindsey Shaffer, a private courier. She also called me 4 times. She says she has sealed documents requiring my signature and that I need to make myself available tomorrow between 12 and 5. If I have questions, or if I want to put in a stop order, I am to contact the filing party at 888-742-8597. No one showed up after any of her calls. I received a total of 4 calls from her. Other phone numbers/caller ID's used by her: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX and 614-980-0375/Columbus, OH.
There was 1 call from a Bree Sanders at phone number 614-980-0375. Caller ID showed Columbus, OH. She said I have been deemed to be non-compliant in a claim, resulting in my file being flagged and turned over to their recovery department. They need an immediate response today and I am to call the 614 number. If you cross reference all of the phone numbers, you will see that some numbers are common among all of the callers, a sure sign that the calls are all bogus.
None of the callers address you by your name. It is a sure sign that the calls are random. I did not speak to any of these people. I let my answering machine answer anytime I don't recognize the caller ID. I suggest anyone seeing this do the same. I took this information to the Schaumburg, Illinois police department, and they have verified that all of the phone numbers are scammer phone numbers. Because of the threatening nature of some of the calls, they have opened case #16-12086 in order to look in to this matter.
This is a scam to try to extort money from unsuspecting and vulnerable people.
Got a bunch of calls from these people and never answer, they say on my voice mail that they have my name and ss number and would like a statement from someone at this number. I have not called them back and i will not call them back. If they have my phone number then they have my address. Send me a letter in the mail.
