Same thing. Same person. Although they could at least get my name right. LOL! What bothers me is that some poor soul will fall for this. Get out and get a real job people.
They claim to be from the legal department and said that I needed a lawyer for an illegal problem. They continue to call from different numbers. The person has a very strong foreign accent which is very hard to understand.this is a scam phone call. When you try to call back it just keeps ringing and does not have anybody on the other side. They give you a number with the 810 in front of the two numbers which is not an American number. Do not respond and do not call back. This is a scam number and do not respond, do you not answer, do not call back.
I just received a voice message from this phone number asking for my husband. A lady with a strong Indian accent left a message wanting my husband to call them back as there is a "very important legal matter" they need to discuss with him and to call them back with legal counsel. The message also stated that if my husband didn't respond this matter could go to trial and other legal matters could be started. This is very disturbing.
Returned call. Male (heavy accent) answered, had to ask what company, stated "Department of US Treasury"... Asked for name (given the message was left on wife's phone with wrong name given) I gave a false name... Without asking for any further information I was told there was legal action pending me (false name). When I asked how they knew it was for me they said "they pulled it up"... Started asking for more information and they got combative and threatening, told them I turned message over to local authorities and was told to "[***] off" and then hung up on...
same thing just happened to me ...must be something to do with facebook cause they called me "Katie" instead of my real name ...told me I was going to be arrested and to call 718 705 7522 immediately and talk to officer Keith Marshall ...for back taxes said she was from the US treasury and that they had sent me a certified letter and that I had not responded... =(
