I had no name on my caller ID so I let it go to msg which they did not leave. I get sooo many of these no name/no msg calls inspite of Do Not Call. I did look up to see it was from New York where I know no one. Strange, all the experiences above, everything from Indian music to alarm system. Any mention of the name of the alarm system company? All comments helpful, especially from "Anonymous Replies". Thanks everyone. CA/TX
I have had a half dozen calls on my cell phone from these guys. There is one message "To remove.." then a different voice with "Press 2 to remove" - I've done both to no effect. I've also gone through to the salesman and told them to remove me and they just hang up. This time I politely went on with the saleman to find out who they are representing --- ISI Alarms out of North Carolina, and I was careful to get the name of calling company - Security Promotions.
I did call ISI Alarms to confirm that they do work in Houston and they are using Security Promotions as a calling company. I explained to a very nice lady the penalties for calling DNC numbers and there may be penalties for calling cell numbers as well as penalties for re-calling people who opt out. She was very apologetic. I suspect she's buying bad lists of numbers and giving them to Security Pomotions who then does absolutely nothing about processing the "opt outs".
If you get these alarm company calls, call ISI Alarms at 1.800.650.2712 and let them know that you don't want to be called. Be polite with them and I'll bet they clean up their act pretty quickly.
I've received this call before and did not answer it due to inability to identify it..I live in Florida and do not know anyone at that number. After googling it (which I've learned to do) I found out it's a scam. I'm also on the Gov't do not call list, but I guess that doesn't matter. Keep posting 800 or unidentified phone numbers as scams or whatever they are.
Received a call from this number today at 11:01 am. I often receive a call from this number. I am no longer able to answer my phone as I receive so many "scam" phone calls. I had to subscribe to caller ID to be able to answer my phone. I am on the do not call list. Apparently this is worthless. I must receive 3 or 4 a day.
What can I do to stop this?!!
As I was typing this I just received another call! This time from another "service."
